A day in the life of a college freshman

Doing only a day in the life of a college freshman can sometimes be inaccurate. I say this because college students don’t have the same classes everyday. Some days I have 3, some 2, some 1. However, today you will be learning about what a Wednesday looks like for me.

• 8:30 am – wake up, eat breakfast, get ready to go to class
  • I usually eat a Belvita bar or oatmeal. I don’t go to the dining room because it takes more time and I would rather eat in my pajamas in my room.
• 9:10 am- leave for class. My walks are not that far, so leaving with ten minutes until class starts is usually a good time.
• 9:20-10:30 am- Calculus class. Most days my professor lectures at us while writing on the board and I take notes. This is a pretty common way for professors to design their classes. The calculus topics we are covering right now is Newton’s method and Optimization.
• 10:30am-12:45pm. This is my free time of the day. I usually spend this time to get homework done. Sometime in between here I also get lunch with my roommate or another friend.
• 12:45- Leave for Chemistry lab.
• 1-3:50pm- Chemistry lab. Lab’s at my college are usually this long. In chem lab we do a lot of experiments with filtration and hot plates.
• 4:00-6:00 pm- this is the time that I work on Wednesday’s. My lab is in the same spot as where I work so it’s really convenient. I usually bring snacks for in between my lab and work.
• 6:00- bedtime- This is another portion of the day that I have free time. I usually go home from work and get dinner. Then, I go to yoga 7:15-8:15. When I get home from that, I shower and get ready for bed. Sometimes I’ll do some homework before or after yoga.

Some other times where this schedule is different is if my lab is cancelled (the week of a break) or if I have a meeting or something like that. Sometimes I have to collaborate with other students on a group project, meet with my professor, or meet with another person. A lot of college is variable and things just come up. Wednesday is a busier day for me, but this definitely isn’t my busiest day.
